Woody: Project Harmony
Crew Member: Woody
Breed and Age: English Golden Retriever, 7 years old
About Woody:
Woody is a dedicated facility dog at Project Harmony, where he provides comfort and support to children during forensic interviews, family advocacy meetings, and mental health sessions. Alongside his fellow facility dog, Warrior, Woody plays a crucial role in helping children feel safe as they share their experiences. His calm demeanor and gentle nature offer reassurance to those who need it most, helping to bring smiles to faces that have not smiled in a long time.
Training and Background
Woody’s journey to Project Harmony began when he was just 8 weeks old. Through extensive training, he mastered over 50 commands and learned how to provide emotional support in high-stress environments. Patriot Paws, a nonprofit organization, donated Woody to Project Harmony, recognizing his ability to make a profound impact. Since joining the team in August 2019, he has become an irreplaceable source of comfort for the children he serves.
