Revisiting Best Practices in High-Risk Behavior Assessments

About

Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for ages 10–34, with youth who have PTSD and a history of sexual abuse facing especially high risk. Given the prevalence of these experiences, child maltreatment professionals must be prepared to address their needs. This presentation reinforces core principles of high-risk behavior assessment, reviews safety-planning strategies, and offers resources to help providers respond ethically and effectively.
