This month, Guardify passed a milestone that’s both humbling and historic:
400,000 child interviews recorded and protected on our platform.
That’s 400,000 times a child has been given the chance to be heard. 400,000 opportunities for justice, healing, and accountability. And 400,000 reminders that technology, when designed with purpose, can stand in the gap for the most vulnerable.
Built Together
Guardify was not built in a vacuum. It’s been shaped, strengthened, and sharpened by the centers who trusted us first, the interviewers who showed us what mattered most, and the multidisciplinary teams who pushed us to make the system safer, simpler, and more secure.
Key People & Partners Along the Journey
- Gene Klein and Project Harmony (Omaha) — whose early leadership and vision helped shape Guardify’s foundation and set the bar for what excellence in child advocacy technology should look like.
- The King County team (Seattle) — one of the earliest large-scale adopters, showing how innovation could thrive even in the most complex, urban environments.
- Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center — whose migration from DVDs to a unified digital system — spanning 37 partner agencies — helped us prove the scale and impact Guardify could deliver.
- Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office — whose forward-thinking approach to efficiency (“It is saving at least one full-time employee, maybe two,” said County Attorney Matt Wilber) reminded us that saving time means saving more children.
- Partners like NCAtrak and Intelligent Video Solutions (IVS) — who trusted us to integrate seamlessly with their systems, making Guardify a natural part of the workflow for thousands of users.
- Giving Tech Labs — where Guardify was incubated, turning an idea into a product that could serve communities nationwide.
- Guardify’s own team — from engineering to sales to customer support. People like Carrie Paschall, Myron Garcia, Courtney Owen, and Drew Klein have poured themselves into making sure the platform isn’t just functional, but transformative.
And of course, to the tens of thousands of frontline users — forensic interviewers, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, child protective service professionals, medical teams, and mental health experts — who logged in, tested features, gave feedback, and pushed us to get better: this milestone belongs to you.
Every login is a moment that matters. Each time a frontline worker accesses Guardify, it’s one more instance where technology supported — not hindered — a child’s case. That may sound simple, but when so many systems in this space remain outdated or painfully slow, it’s nothing short of transformational.
Putting 400,000 in Perspective
It’s easy to see a number and lose sight of its weight. So let’s ground it:
- 400,000 is roughly the population of New Orleans.
- It’s two-thirds of the state of Wyoming.
- Imagine every person in Cleveland, Ohio, sitting in one room — that’s what 400,000 looks like.
Now imagine each of those voices being a child in need of safety, advocacy, and hope. That’s what Guardify has helped safeguard.
Looking Ahead
While 400,000 is powerful, the work is far from done. There are hundreds of thousands more children who will need this protection in the years to come. And they’ll need all of us — centers, investigators, prosecutors, advocates, technologists — working together to ensure their stories are heard, safeguarded, and acted upon.
This milestone isn’t an ending. It’s fuel. Every day, we’re building toward a future where no child slips through the cracks, where every interview is preserved with dignity, and where every community can access tools that uphold justice and trust.
To our partners — past, present, and future — thank you. This is your milestone too.
Together, we’ll ensure the next 400,000 voices are heard just as clearly.
With care,
Ben Jackson
