Meet Woody

Woody is a dedicated facility dog at Project Harmony, known for his calm presence, gentle spirit, and steady support for children and families during some of their hardest days. At 7 years old, Woody brings a quiet confidence into every space he enters—helping children feel safer as they begin to share experiences that are often painful and difficult to put into words. Woody supports children across multiple services at Project Harmony, including forensic interviews, family advocacy meetings, and mental health sessions. Working alongside his fellow facility dog, Warrior, Woody plays an essential role in creating a safe and comforting environment where children can begin to breathe a little easier. His gentle nature offers reassurance to those who need it most—and time and time again, Woody has helped bring smiles to faces that haven’t smiled in a long time.

About Project Harmony

Project Harmony provides trauma-informed, child-centered services designed to support children and families through the investigative and healing process. Through coordinated care—including forensic interviews, advocacy support, and mental health services—Project Harmony works to reduce trauma, strengthen safety, and help children feel supported every step of the way.

Training and Background

Woody’s journey to Project Harmony began when he was just 8 weeks old, starting the early foundation of training that would prepare him for a life of meaningful service. Through extensive training, Woody mastered over 50 commands and learned how to provide emotional support in high-stress environments—remaining calm, attentive, and responsive even in difficult settings. Woody was generously donated to Project Harmony by Patriot Paws, a nonprofit organization that recognized his unique ability to make a lasting impact. Since joining the team in August 2019, Woody has become an irreplaceable source of comfort—offering stability, warmth, and steady companionship to countless children as they navigate the path toward healing.

A Moment That Says It All

Woody’s greatest gift is his ability to bring calm into moments that feel overwhelming. In rooms where fear, uncertainty, and heavy emotions are present, Woody provides something steady—quiet reassurance, gentle closeness, and a peaceful presence that helps children feel less alone. For many kids, Woody becomes a safe point of focus, a comforting companion, and a reminder that support can exist even in the hardest moments. Sometimes, the most powerful thing he does is simply stay—helping children find the courage to take one more step forward.
