Meet Eevee

Eevee is a beloved crew member at BraveBe Child Advocacy Center and a certified facility dog with a heart as big as her smile. As a facility dog, Eevee bridges the gap between a therapy dog and a service dog—offering steady emotional support and comfort to children and families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

With her warm, friendly personality, Eevee is a perfect fit for her role. She enthusiastically greets families as soon as they arrive and makes sure she visits with everyone. Always ready for a belly rub, Eevee brings a calm, reassuring presence during forensic interviews and caregiver meetings. Many children look forward to seeing her each week and seek her out the moment they walk through the door—because for them, Eevee isn’t just a dog at the Center. She’s part of what makes the space feel safe.

About BraveBe Child Advocacy Center

BraveBe Child Advocacy Center provides trauma-informed, child-focused support for children and families navigating the investigative process. Through coordinated services and compassionate care, BraveBe works to reduce trauma, strengthen safety, and ensure children and caregivers feel supported from the moment they enter the Center.

Training and Background

Eevee completed a full year of specialized training to become a certified facility dog. She is trained to remain calm in high-stress environments and respond to emotional cues—helping children regulate, feel grounded, and find comfort during difficult moments. Her presence has become a vital source of support not only for the families served at BraveBe, but also for the staff who carry this work every day. Eevee’s steady companionship adds warmth and calm to the Center, even on the hardest days.

A Moment That Says It All

Eevee’s impact is felt in the small moments that families never forget. One family, whose child had evening appointments, would call ahead just to check if Eevee was there—because their child missed seeing her so much. Another child found comfort simply by talking about the softness of Eevee’s velvety ears and nose, using that gentle focus to cope during a difficult time. And for many families, Eevee becomes a lasting reminder of safety and care. Some even keep Eevee stickers on their refrigerators—small tokens that represent something much bigger: the comfort they felt when they needed it most.

On Her Day Off

On her days off, Eevee enjoys playing with her fellow canine friends, running around the yard, and carrying her favorite stuffed animals. She loves chewing on bones and believes she is a lap dog, always eager to snuggle.
