Breed: Yellow Lab | Age: 2.5 Years Old

Meet Coco

Coco is a beloved comfort crew member at Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center. This sweet 2.5-year-old Yellow Lab has a natural gift for bringing calm, connection, and comfort to children during some of their most difficult moments. Whether a child is in therapy or preparing for a forensic interview, Coco helps create a steady, welcoming environment just by being close. She’ll quietly sit on the couch or in the room with them—offering a friendly face, listening ears, and the kind of comforting cuddle that makes everything feel a little less scary.

About Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center

Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center supports children and families through a trauma-informed, child-centered approach designed to reduce fear, increase safety, and promote healing. By providing coordinated services and compassionate support, Voices of Courage helps ensure children don’t have to navigate the process alone—and that families feel supported every step of the way.

Training and Background

Coco has been in training through CHAMP Assistance Dogs, Inc. for the past two years, preparing specifically to work with children and families in settings like Voices of Courage. Her training has helped shape her into the calm, steady companion she is today—and the Center is excited to have Coco as part of the team, ready to bring comfort and reassurance to the clients who need it most. Coco’s impact reaches far beyond the therapy room. She’s also a huge source of encouragement for the Voices of Courage staff and the multidisciplinary partners who support children through the process—including Law Enforcement, Children’s Division, Medical teams and Prosecuting Attorneys.

A Moment That Says It All

If you’ve met Coco, you love her. Coco has a way of making instant connections—no introductions needed. She brings a smile to everyone’s face, and within moments, she somehow becomes your best friend. Her warmth is immediate, her presence is grounding, and her joy is contagious. It’s the kind of comfort that doesn’t require words—just a wagging tail, a gentle nudge, and the reminder that you’re safe.
