MABEL

Davis House Child Advocacy Center

Breed: Mini Aussiedoodle

Meet Mabel

Mabel is a Mini Aussiedoodle who helps create a welcoming and comforting environment at Davis House Child Advocacy Center. As a therapy dog, she sits in therapy sessions alongside the therapist and therapy clients, offering a calm and supportive presence during important moments of care.

Mabel also welcomes children and families who come to the Center for forensic interviews. Her friendly presence helps make the space feel a little brighter and more approachable for children, parents, and caregivers alike.

Whether she is sitting quietly in a therapy session or greeting a family as they arrive, Mabel helps bring comfort, warmth, and reassurance to the children and families Davis House serves.

About Davis House Child Advocacy Center

Davis House Child Advocacy Center is a child advocacy center serving Williamson County, Tennessee. The Center provides a child-centered, supportive environment for children and families navigating abuse investigations and healing services. Through therapy support, forensic interviews, family support, and a welcoming space, Davis House works to help children and caregivers feel safe, supported, and heard.

Training and Background

Mabel completed puppy training as well as therapy dog-focused training to prepare for her work at the Center. Through this training, she learned the commands and behaviors needed to serve as a comforting facility animal. Her preparation helps her provide appropriate, gentle support to children and families in therapy sessions, during visits for forensic interviews, and throughout their time at the Center.

A Moment That Says It All

Mabel’s impact is felt not only by the children who come into the Center, but also by their parents and caregivers. Her presence helps create a more welcoming, comforting environment for families who may be arriving with stress, uncertainty, or worry.

By offering warmth and connection, Mabel helps make a child and family’s time at the CAC just a little bit brighter. Her role is a reminder that comfort can support the whole family, not just the child receiving services.

On Her Day Off

When Mabel is off duty, she loves running around outside with her doggie cousins and going on long walks.
