Join us as we explore the many decision points for both interviewers and CACs when it comes to figuring out how to incorporate evidence into a forensic interview in both a legal and an ethical way. This presentation will provide some guidance on the techniques of presenting evidence and offer some considerations for teams in advance of employing the practice.
Presenter
Julie Kenniston, MSW, LISW, FAPSAC is a Deputy Administrator for the National Criminal Justice Training Center of Fox Valley Technical College and a contract Forensic Interviewer for the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center. She presents for the Association of Professionals Solving the Abuse of Children (APSAC) forensic interview clinics and has been a faculty member for other forensic interview courses throughout her career. A former APSAC board member, she co-chairs forensic interviewing committees and holds her Certificate of Fellowship (FAPSAC). She has conducted well over 3,000 forensic interviews. Ms. Kenniston co-authored Handbook on Questioning Children: A Linguistic Perspective, 3rd edition with Anne Graffam Walker, PhD. Ms. Kenniston worked for child protective services for 15 years and has also directed a nonprofit, developing family justice center.
