After careful consideration, Guardify has decided to end its partnership with iRecord and its parent company, Valsoft Corporation. We are winding down the integration and reseller relationship and will complete the transition by January 2027.
iRecord was sold to outside investors in September 2025; the buyer was Valsoft Corporation, which holds iRecord through WSI. Valsoft’s founders are widely reported to have been owners of adult entertainment businesses, including Pornhub & Brazzers. We became aware of the change in ownership when one of our advisors recognized the Valsoft name and expressed concern. In our review, we identified many additional reports of other investments they had made that we cannot support. iRecord did not tell us about this history. We consider that a violation of our trust and opposed to our mission and values.
Guardify exists to serve children, families, Child Advocacy Centers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and everyone across the victim-serving field who works to protect and support both children and adults affected by abuse. In this field, adult entertainment is not a neutral adjacency; children are groomed through exposure to pornography, coerced into acting out what an offender has viewed, and affected by how available all of it is online. National Children’s Alliance set that reasoning out in full when it ended its own corporate partnership, and we agree with it. We cannot hold ourselves to the standard our customers expect and keep this partnership.
Please see Teresa Huizar and National Children’s Alliance’s statement in NCA Engage member forum and sent via email.
iRecord has served Children’s Advocacy Centers well for years, and we want to be clear about what this is not. Recorded forensic interviews are stored on a server housed in your center or transferred into Guardify Evidence, so we do not believe the technology has been compromised or that any interview is at risk. This is not a product dispute, a pricing dispute, or a competitive move. It is about whose name we are willing to put ours next to.
What this means if you use iRecord
- Effective January 1st, 2027, Guardify will disconnect our iRecord integration with our Evidence platform -and-our TRAK (formerly NCAtrak) integration with iRecord and TRAK will be discontinued.
- If you choose to stay with iRecord, our integrations with both TRAK and Guardify Evidence will continue to work through the end of 2026. Nothing will change with your contract with Guardify, the integration will simply no longer work.
Recording System Options
- Guardify has an alternative recording hardware system, called Capture that fully integrates with our Evidence and Cases products that many centers already use. More information is available at: Guardify.com/Capture/
- Guardify will also continue to support its other recording system partner integrations. The full list of partner integrations is available at Guardify.com/Partners/
Contract Transition Support
- Customers who move to Guardify Capture will receive Capture at no cost for the remainder of their existing iRecord term, with hardware, software, and standard installation included.
- A five-year Capture agreement starts when the existing iRecord term ends. The no cost window sits in front of it and does not count against that term. Existing iRecord contracts remain in place.
- Guardify Capture cannot re-use your iRecord devices, so technicians will need to be scheduled for that installation. The longer your remaining iRecord term, the more Capture you get at no cost.
- Guardify Evidence is required to run Capture; that has not changed, and Evidence is billed as usual. Guardify is extending its in-house grant fund, the Beacon Fund, for 50% off the first year of Evidence for new customers, recognizing that many grant cycles are already closed and this transition would otherwise be unbudgeted.
- Customers are encouraged to share their contract end date and budget cycle so Guardify can build the timing around both.
On timing
Guardify expects more demand than can be installed at once and is sequencing installations by geography to coordinate centers in the same states or regions. Customers who plan to switch to Capture at no cost can fill out the Waitlist Form to join our waitlist. A scheduling window (not a fixed date) will be provided along with further updates.
Customers who are still undecided are welcome to join the list anyway. There is no cost or commitment to do so.
If you do not use iRecord
Nothing changes. Evidence and Cases keep working with the equipment you already own, and we continue to support our other recording and hardware partners. For a full list, see Guardify.com/Partners. This decision is isolated to iRecord’s new ownership and does not reflect any change in how Guardify works with partners.
